The Vision

Three unique companies had a clear vision to develop highly advanced ozone generation systems that address the technical advances of ozone generation while providing solutions that meet the new contaminants of concern affecting companies under the jurisdiction of the EPA. Existing ozone technologies were found to be lacking in energy efficiency and sophisticated computer controls. This new technology, the combined synergistic efforts of all three companies, would bring solutions to water disinfection and other applications requiring large amounts of ozone production. The concept was to combine the talents and intellectual properties of the Plasma Technics Plasma Block^® ozone generator together with Guardian Manufacturing, Inc. expertise in providing integrated solutions to process industries. Together they could engineer an ozone production system that could be fully automated, self protecting, and 30% more efficient than the closest competitor. The systems would need to be rugged, require low power, have a small footprint and endure very harsh working atmospheres. Most importantly, the system would be able to replace existing systems and include ozone modules to fit the typical expansion of client needs. The design would eliminate the need for a spare system and would need to be shipped fully assembled and tested. The new concept would only require plumbing connections, one power input and a system (TCP/IP) control input to be ready to go. The system would operate either off of liquid oxygen or separated air.

The Works

The companies envisioned a new entity that would have access to the most advanced designs and process engineers. The products could be UL listed quickly and efficiently by achieving extremely high levels of engineering excellence. The first production models and prototypes were designed with the same tools and built under a strict ISO certified Quality plan. The new products not only worked right out of the box but exceeded the expectations for low power consumption while maintaining a near 100% power factor. Technological innovation allowed barriers to be broken where a single QuadBlock^® contained four ozone generators but with all of the electronics and high voltage components required to function. The system would operate at high frequencies and constantly perform self diagnostics. The analogy describing the equivalent performance is like comparing a new PC to the first computer mainframes of the 1950-1960s. The competition operates with technology originally developed in the 1950’s, and ironically speaking many still use dielectric tubes for their ozone generation. As those old computers took up whole rooms to house equipment, Pinnacle can place a system operating quietly in the fraction of a small cabinet.
