In January of 2021, Orlando Drum & Container (located in Central Florida) installed an Advanced Oxidation Process using hydrogen peroxide for the remediation of 1,4 Dioxane in their groundwater. The system utilizes a Pinnacle 20 Up Ozone Generator, contact tank, and injection system that dissolves ozone and hydrogen peroxide into the influent water stream.  Pinnacle’s Advanced Oxidation process efficiently removes the 1,4 Dioxane in the influent treatment stream to undetectable levels.   The Pinnacle Ozone Solutions, LLC Advanced Oxidation system gave Orlando Drum the tools and techniques to break down the 1,4 Dioxane, which are known carcinogens. Contaminated groundwater is pumped into a contact tank assembly where ozone and hydrogen peroxide are dissolved into the water to oxidize the 1,4 Dioxane through a process known as advanced oxidation.  The treated water is returned to the groundwater, creating a healthy ecosystem, essentially making a “night and day” difference to their environmental impact.  Over time, the 1,4 Dioxane levels at the Orlando Drum Facility will be remediated to a level considered safe to the environment.
